Cruising the Rhine River...
River Queen ~ Uniworld River Cruise
An incredible company!  I loved my Uniworld cruise [and no, this is not a sponsored post!]
Kolner Dom ~ the Cathedral in Koln.  These were carved by hand hundreds of years ago.
I love history ~ if only those walls could talk....
I loved walking around the churches and buildings and just feeling as if I had gone back in time.
View from the river.
The numbers on the white house, 1685, is the year the house was built, not the street address!
Can you tell I was excited to be there?  I wore that grin for a month ~
starting the week before my trip, and for two weeks after I got back!
It was a magical trip for me.
Best.
Christmas.
Ever.

  1. What a glorious city - and I love that face-hurting smile of yours. Would you go back if you got the chance, or are the memories enough?

    1. I would go back. Again and again and again. I would do the Uniworld cruise at different times of the year, and I know that each time I would find something new and magical about each city and town we stopped in. The 2 days we spent in Koln were not enough to see everything, and I would love to explore all of the small cobblestone streets, family bakeries, and beer pubs. To be able to sit and listen to the whispers in a 600 year old church... I would move to Germany if I could just figure out how to convince my big dog that a ride in an airplane would not kill him.

  11. I thought Koln was more beautiful than Notre Dame, more character for sure. The day we were there, someone was doing a chalk drawing of the Mona Lisa. Awesome! I would go back and cannot wait to take my daughter there.
