5 minutes: willing ...

she was willing to love him
she was willing to help him
she was willing to share her life with him

she wasn't willing to lose herself
she wasn't willing to take part in the things that destroyed them

she wasn't willing to continue to enable him

she was willing to love him
she was willing to pray for him
she was willing to let him go

He was willing to take the cross for them
He was willing to die for them
He was willing to love them
He was willing to forgive them

“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part."
~ Matthew 6:14-15 MSG ~

  1. Cindi, this is a powerful reflection. Amazing what pain, healing, forgiveness and acceptance you've conveyed in just five minutes. Thank you for this lovely offering wrought from your experience. So happy to have met you through FMF this morning.

  2. The first three paragraphs describe my second marriage.
I wish I could have done more for him, but it isn't up to me now.

A side note to my Words on Wednesday ~ I've truly enjoyed reading everyone's blogs, comments, and posts the past few months, but unfortunately have not been able to comment from Safari, and have to use Chrome for commenting. It is frustrating and annoying to have to log out of one and into the other just for commenting, when everything else I do is on Safari. I'm not sure if it is because I'm using a Mac, but I haven't been able to sign into Google on Safari. I'm still trying, however, just know that if I don't comment, it's not because I haven't enjoyed reading or seeing Sunday's Selections photos.
